She views therapy as a collaborative effort where clients can safely explore their experiences, gain new perspectives, and develop the skills needed to create lasting change. Her goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel supported throughout their healing journey.
Sophie helps clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building healthy coping strategies they can use in everyday life. She enjoys supporting clients as they strengthen emotional regulation, improve relationships, and develop greater resilience. She believes lasting change comes from pairing introspection with practical tools that clients can apply in their everyday lives.
Sophie has a special interest in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and life transitions. She tailors treatment to each client's unique goals, values, and experiences, meeting them where they are and helping them grow into their best selves.
Sophie McLarty’s Professional Background
Sophie earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Tarleton State University, where she developed a strong foundation in evidence-based counseling practices. She completed her clinical training at Cenikor Dallas, providing counseling services to individuals with a wide range of mental health and substance use concerns. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Counseling at Tarleton State University, where she continues to expand her clinical knowledge, research interests, and commitment to lifelong learning. Her professional interests include trauma, ADHD, psychological assessment, and the cognitive and behavioral effects of trauma.
